Confirmed! Tanzania’s final squad for AFCON 2025

Tanzania’s national side, known as the Taifa Stars has announced a balanced 28-man roster for AFCON 2025, blending experienced internationals with rising talent from the domestic league. Leading the team is veteran forward Mbwana Samatta, who returns after a strong spell in France’s Ligue 1, alongside fellow striker Simon Msuva.

The squad also includes a host of locally-based players from top Tanzanian clubs such as Simba SC, Young Africans SC and Azam FC a strategic move by coach Miguel Gamondi to reinforce the team’s identity and cohesion.

Tanzania heads into the tournament placed in Group C, where they will face tough competition from Nigeria national football team, Tunisia national football team and regional rivals Uganda national football team. With a mix of seasoned internationals and youthful energy and under a management determined to achieve a historic knockout-stage breakthrough the Taifa Stars will aim to make a statement as they chase continental respect and glory.
