U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2nd Leg Fixtures and Dates


The race for Africa’s slots at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026 has reached a thrilling stage, with the final round second-leg fixtures fast approaching after an action-packed first leg played over the past weekend.

Eight teams remain in contention, and the first-leg encounters delivered both dominant performances and tightly contested battles.

Tanzania vs Cameroon


Cameroon took a strong step toward qualification with a 3-1 victory over Tanzania, putting them in control ahead of the return leg. Tanzania host Cameroon in Zanzibar, on May 10, 2026, where they face an uphill battle, in their bid to book a spot for Poland 2026.


Malawi vs Nigeria

Similarly, Nigeria showcased their pedigree with a 2-0 win against Malawi, giving the West Africans a solid advantage. Malawi take on Nigeria in Lilongwe on May 9 and they will be hoping to stage a comeback against the falconets.


Benin vs Côte d’Ivoire


Elsewhere, Côte d’Ivoire and Benin played out a 1-1 draw, leaving everything to play for in the second leg. Benin meet Côte d’Ivoire in Lomé where the winner takes all.


Uganda vs Ghana


Ghana’s clash with Uganda proved to be one of the most competitive ties, with reports indicating a narrow margin separating the two sides after the first leg, setting up a tense decider. After losing 1-2 in the 1st leg, Uganda will host Ghana On May 9, 2026 for the 2nd leg.


With World Cup qualification on the line, the stakes could not be higher. Only four teams will advance to represent Africa on the global stage later this year.

As the second legs approach, the momentum lies with sides like Nigeria and Cameroon, but football has proven time and again that no lead is ever truly safe.
