The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) has reached the knockout stage after an action-packed group phase in Morocco. The continent's top eight teams are now just three victories away from lifting Africa's biggest women's football trophy and securing direct qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Knockout Stage Set for High Drama


With the group stage producing outstanding performances from tournament favorites and emerging contenders alike, the quarter-finals promise thrilling encounters. Powerhouses such as Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Cameroon, Algeria, and Senegal are all aiming to book their place in the last eight, depending on the final group standings.



Every WAFCON 2026 Quarter-final Fixtures will be played as a winner-takes-all contest, with the victorious teams advancing to the semi-finals scheduled for 12 August, while the final will take place on 16 August in Morocco. The four semi-finalists will also secure automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, making every knockout match even more significant.


The teams that lose in the quarterfinals will play in two playoffs with winners joining other teams in the inter-confederation playoffs.
