10. Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast)  - 3 FIFA World cup Appearances

Ivory coast has had 3 appearances in the world cup in the 2006, 2010, and the 2014 editions. These appearances were mainly during what was considered the golden era of Ivorian football. This was during the Drogba/Touré era, when Ivory coast was considered to have one of the best squads on the continent.


Best Performance: Despite having a very talented squad and star power. Cote d’Ivoire were unable to make it out of the group stages in any of their 3 appearances.


9. South Africa  3 FIFA World cup Appearances

Bafana Bafana have made three cameos in 1998, 2002, and 2010 editions. South Africa made history for being the first African Country to host a FIFA World Cup event when they played home to 2010 edition. Hosting in 2010 gave them huge exposure, they were able to boost their infrastructure and they gained invaluable experience in hosting and taking part in global football.


Best Performance: Their Best group stage performances was in 2010, where they famously beat France 2-1 but they missed out on the knockout round thanks to the goal difference rule.

The three appearances were during the 1934, 1990, and the latest one being the 2018 edition. Egypt is hailed as one of the best teams in Africa, with a rich African football history. 3. Morocco - 6 FIFA World Cup Appearances

The Atlas Lions debuted in the world cup in 1970, and then proceeded to make appearances in the 1986, 1994, 1998, 2018, and the 2022 editions.
